Lisa Ferrari authored an article on the different copyright issues facing NFTs. The first issue is that artists must decide what rights they want to give to the purchasers of the NFT. Another issue is that “minters” need to ensure they hold the proper authorization or the necessary IP rights to mint NFTs linked to preexisting and protected works. If they do not, artists and brands may need to take action against NFT counterfeits.
