New NYCHA Leadership Appointed

Mayor Adams announced new appointments to the leadership of the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA). Jamie Rubin will serve as Chair, and Lisa Bova-Hiatt will now become permanent CEO of NYCHA after serving as interim CEO for nearly a year. Rubin has previously worked at the Governor’s Office of Storm Recovery and NYS Homes and Community Renewal. Additionally, the Mayor has appointed First Deputy Mayor Sheena Wright and Greg Belinfanti to the NYCHA Board, and Pamela Campbell to the new board of the Public Housing Preservation Trust.

Acting NYPD Commissioner

Mayor Adams has named Eddie Caban as Acting Police Commissioner, following the departure of Keechant Sewell. Caban is currently First Deputy Commissioner, and will head the NYPD as the Adams administration searches for a permanent replacement. Caban has been with the NYPD for 30 years, but also has an alleged history of discipline and misconduct.
