Alycen Moss and Elliot Kerzner published an article in Best's Review titled, "Protests, Riots Raise Questions of Civil Authority Coverage" discussing property damage from the riots following the death of George Floyd in May 2020. Many businesses lost income and sought coverage under their insurance policies as a result of vandalism and looting during these riots. However, for any given loss, coverage depends on the language of the particular policy provisions governing the claim at issue.
