Leni Morrison Cummins, a member of Cozen O’Connor’s Real Estate Practice Group, discusses in The Cooperator whether a tenant should sue management after a leaky roof caused water damages inside the apartment. Leni explains that the cooperative board is typically responsible for repairing the building exterior but is not responsible for any damage within the apartment. However, if the cooperative board failed to have the roof repaired, or there was too much of a delay, the board could be held responsible for the interior damages.
