Cozen O’Connor’s Real Estate Practice Group represented Liberty Property Trust, the real estate investment trust developing the Comcast Technology Center project. The new $1.5 billion, 60-story building will be the tallest in the United States outside of New York and Chicago and is scheduled for completion in early 2018. Cozen O’Connor’s team of attorneys, which includes Adam Silverman, Thomas Witt and Elizabeth Kearney, assisted with the land acquisition in 2011, followed by a series of zoning matters, joint venture agreements, development agreements and the largest single-tenant office lease in the history of Philadelphia. The project will connect to the original Comcast Center at 17th and JFK Blvd by a pedestrian tunnel under 18th street, which required complicated negotiations with SEPTA and the city of Philadelphia.
