Monday, June 1, 2009

Cozen O'Connor announced that Erik L. Jackson has joined the firm’s Los Angeles office as a member of the commercial litigation department. Prior to joining the firm, he was a partner with Locke, Lord, Bissell & Liddell LLP in its Los Angeles office. Jackson represents corporate clients in a wide range of business and commercial lawsuits involving intellectual property, real estate, telecommunications, attorney ethics, unfair competition, business torts, and defamation claims and issues. He regularly represents and counsels clients in matters of intellectual property, including theft of trade secrets and claims for trademark, copyright and patent infringement, and has significant experience representing consumer electronics, computer hardware and software, emerging technology and nutraceutical companies.

“Cozen presented an exciting opportunity for me to grow my practice and contribute to the expansion of the firm’s Los Angeles office,” said Jackson. “The firm has demonstrated a commitment to growth at a time when others are contracting.”

Jackson earned his law degree from the University of Southern California Law School (1992) where he received the Carl M. Franklin Award for International Law, and his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Los Angeles (1988). He was awarded a Fulbright Fellowship to Helsinki Finland in International Relations and International Law, where he studied in 1992-1993.

Jackson is admitted to practice in California and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Central Districts of California.
