John Carrigan, Jr., Ethan Chernin, Michele Ballard Miller, and Nicole Herter Perkin will present “California Employment Law Update: Employment Harassment and Discrimination: Updates and New Guidance.” The EEOC has been busy. It just issued updated guidance on harassment in the workplace and before that, finalized the Pregnancy Fairness Act regulations. On the state level, California continues to expand the parameters of the Fair Employment and Housing Act, as new laws and interpretations of existing laws are published. John, Ethan, Michele, and Nicole will examine recent federal developments and discuss how characteristics, such as caste, weight, and cannabis use, are increasingly being recognized as entitled to protection under the law. They will also review recent decisions and best practices to stay ahead of these rapidly changing areas of the law.
