The Year in Review and Looking Forward to 2024: What Every California Employer Needs to Know

Date & Time

Start Date: 12/13/2023
Start Time: 12:00 pm PST
End Time: 1:15 pm PST

The past year has been extremely challenging, and 2024 should prove just as challenging. There have been a number of laws signed by the governor that California employers should be aware of. These include expanded sick leave, leave for reproductive loss events, greater protections for off-duty cannabis use, and a new obligation to adopt a comprehensive workplace violence prevention program. There have also been agency and judicial developments that will impact California and other employers in the coming year. Join Michele Ballard Miller, Walter M. Stella, and Elena K. Hillman for their annual review of these employment law developments affecting California employers. They will explain the new laws scheduled to take effect in 2024, review important U.S. Supreme Court and California court rulings, discuss pending legislation and key court decisions and, of course, review COVID-19 requirements that remain in effect. They will also cover best practices to prepare your organization for employment law compliance in the new year and beyond.
