The CLM Annual Conference is a mix of interactive educational sessions and networking events for professionals in the claims and litigation management industries. The conference will have numerous industry professionals including Janet Davis, Kenan Loomis, and Irene Yesowitch of the Global Insurance Department.

Janet Davis will be presenting on a panel titled "Professional Liability - The New Frontier: Liability and Coverage Issues Facing 21st Century Design Professionals." This session will discuss the roles and exposures of design professionals which continue to morph and change. Design/Build projects led by the builder rather than the designer are becoming the norm rather than the exception. Claims professionals and counsel experienced in defending design professionals and evaluating coverage will discuss the impact on project discussions, E&O coverage and other developing topics related to architects and engineers.

Kenan Loomis will be presenting on a panel titled "Claims Management - Navigating the Waters of Large SIRs and Deductibles." Companies often obtain policies with large self-insured retentions (SIR) or deductibles, to defray the cost of insurance or keep control of claims. Many issues can arise within the SIR/deductible that require careful analysis and navigation for our clients and carriers. This session will educate the audience on the statutory and case law relevant to determining the duty to defend and indemnify when the client/insured cannot satisfy the SIR/deductible, and will provide strategies in navigating the common issues.

Irene Yesowitch will be presenting on a panel titled "Insurance Coverage - Insurance Complications in the Modern World." New technology and business enterprises, including ride-sharing, Airbnb, legalized marijuana, Bitcoin, drones, self-driving cars, and cybersquatting are presenting new issues for the industry. This session will cover insurance coverage and litigation issues associated with these new businesses.
